Founded in 2012, Fullstack Academy is a tech bootcamp provider that offers immersive online programs for AI & machine learning, software engineering, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, DevOps, and product management. Fullstack: A short review
I went to Fullstack Academy in order to keep myself accountable, and have some credibility with my resume instead of being self taught.
The plus
I'll keep it short, the teachers are fantastic, the curriculum is always changing to meet current technologies, and there's a robust alumni network (most of my job interviews were through referrals), and the sense of knowing that you're all in it for more or less the same reason builds a sense of comraderyI went to Fullstack Academy in order to keep myself accountable, and have some credibility with my resume instead of being self taught.

The minus
Cost is one of the more expensive ones I know of, the class sizes are unusually large, and I feel that the TAs/mentors/helpers are overwhelmed consistently. Furthermore, while they teach you the right tech, the fact that this field requires data structures and algorithms to pass actual interviews, but only teaches those during the last month or so while you're knee deep in projects is kind of a bad format.
The tl;dr
The bootcamp is good, but it also has downsides. Not everywhere is perfect, The people there legitimately want you to succeed, bootcamps capitalize on a market, and they all want a slice of the pie.

Great experience!
My overall experience was pretty great. My experience is bit different as I took the course as a Canadian resident. I had been doing a bit of freelance work with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and wanted to refine my abilities. The course was split up into 3 sections: Foundations, Junior Phase, Senior Phase. Foundations went by pretty quickly, there were no classes and it was pretty much self teaching yourself with their materials. You are able to request assistance with one of their fellows...My overall experience was pretty great. My experience is bit different as I took the course as a Canadian resident. Junior Phase was probably my favorite part of the course; We had daily lectures and pair programming session where you are able to work with other classmates and create a small application. Senior Phase was a lot less of the lecture structure and there we did daily mock technical interviews to prepare for the search. After that we would go to our assigned groups to complete bigger projects. I wish that the school had spent more time talking about the foundations of programming, like data structures and algos, but it is something you can pick up pretty quickly after the course.
The instructors were really good and they REALLY cared about your education and they really wanted to be there and teach the students. I never felt that I didn't really have anyone to reach out to.
Job assistance was really great. I was set up with a career coach that I could contact with any questions regarding employment and negotiations. After you graduate there is a career day where you can make connections with employers looking for bootcamp grads. I don't know if I'm allowed to say who was there, but there were a lot of good companies that offered competitive salaries and benefits. I was paired up with a career coach who seemed really invested in my progress during the job hunt, we met bi-weekly and setup goals. They were also there if I needed to vent about certain issues during the job search process. My career coach also sent my almost weekly e-mails with very good job opportunities and possible paid internships.
It took me about 2 months to find a job, outside of the US, with a lot of support from my career coach. Joining this school also sets you up with their alum network who work in numerous companies. It's a good place to learn and make lifelong connections. I would definitely recommend taking this bootcamp.

Data Analytics Bootcamp
This is a bootcamp geared towards the determined beginner - anyone who is serious about applying themselves and making a career in data analytics should consider this bootcamp. The pace is slow enough for beginners, but fast enough for those who already have some experience in other languages. I was able to use my experience with FSA as a talking point in my interviewing process, and scored a data analytics job before the cohort had finished. This helped somewhat, but I didn't really understand anything about collaboration and working through problems with peers until I went through this boot camp. Also, the pace at which I learned the frameworks and libraries was dramatically speed up. This was due to the teachers stripping away the fluff and teaching what was necessary to build an en...My experience with Fullstack Academy was overall very positive. This may be a personal preference, but in case you care about this sort of thing; Going through this camp also introduced me to a lot of like minded people working toward the same goal. This may not at seem like a huge advantage at first, but I found that there was a real benefit that came with the camaraderie of learning something as difficult as development.
By the end of program I felt very confidant in my skills as a developer. Life changing experience
Fullstack Academy has changed my life. I resisted going to a bootcamp for years, as I had a CS degree that I'd never used, and never thought I'd want to use. But times change, and when I got dumped out of a good startup job when the company went under due to the pandemic, I started looking for something more rewarding. I wanted to use my degree, but I needed a refresher. I looked at a few bootcamps and decided FSA seemed the most rigorous while still being short.
The program is...Fullstack Academy has changed my life. I resisted going to a bootcamp for years, as I had a CS degree that I'd never used, and never thought I'd want to use. But times change, and when I got dumped out of a good startup job when the company went under due to the pandemic, I started looking for something more rewarding. I wanted to use my degree, but I needed a refresher. I looked at a few bootcamps and decided FSA seemed the most rigorous while still being short.
The program is well designed, with lots of javascript and programming basics up front, then a focus on learning the web tech stack, and then back to CS principles towards the end while you work on your capstone project. The core curriculum is solid, though it could stand to be updated with some new technologies and updated versions (especially React and Typescript). There is a lot of pair programming, which I have mixed feelings about. The breadth of prior knowledge and experience in bootcamp participants mean sometimes you'll work with someone on your level, but more often you'll be working with someone drastically ahead or behind you in understanding. These can still be rewarding experiences, as you'll either have someone to learn from or have the opportunity to explain something to someone, which is a great way to deepen your understanding.
The instructors are mostly awesome, people who genuinely want to be there and teach, rather than just a stopover between software development gigs. Teaching is hard, though, and there are a few who may be great developers but are still working on their teaching chops. The good ones are amazing though, and all are putting in their best effort.
The most rewarding part of my FSA experience was being offered a position as a "Fellow" (teaching assistant) after the program. The fellowship was a great opportunity to deepen my understanding of the material, share it with others, and work on my personal portfolio and applying to jobs while collecting a (very modest) paycheck. Working with students struggling with the program, trying hard to change their lives for the better, was very powerful. Lots of highs, and lots of lows.
Having the fellowship on my resume, plus my CS degree, made it relatively easy to differentiate myself from other bootcamp grads and find a job making more than I'd even hoped for a first job. (Two weeks into starting the job, I still can't believe I got the offer). But the core program at Fullstack is challenging and relatively rigorous, the instructors are passionate and have real teaching skills, and the students are motivated and professional. The job assistance program, which I assumed would be an afterthought, was actually really helpful. The career services counsellors are experienced and insightful, and they really want to help you get a job. It was a pleasure working with them.

My experience with Fullstack Academy
I started my coding bootcamp with Fullstack Academy in April, 2021.
I graduated from it late July of the same year, however, due to my personal situation I went back to my old job right away.
Even though I was working full-time and job hunting it only took 4 months for me to land a job! And I am a mother of a pre-schooler as well! Great experience!
I started with Fullstack's bootcamp in a month program in February, with no prior experience, and got into their immersive software engineering program in March, finishing in late July and signed my offer as a Fullstack Developer recently in October 2021.
It was honestly quite difficult and in order to get the most out of the program, you do need to put in many nights and weekends but I'd say, with certainty, the more work you put in, the more you get out. There is some hand hold...I started with Fullstack's bootcamp in a month program in February, with no prior experience, and got into their immersive software engineering program in March, finishing in late July and signed my offer as a Fullstack Developer recently in October 2021.
It was honestly quite difficult and in order to get the most out of the program, you do need to put in many nights and weekends but I'd say, with certainty, the more work you put in, the more you get out. There is some hand holding, but if you really want to work in software engineering as a career, a large part of that is learning how to google and how to solve problems. For those who are worried about struggling, the program leads and instructors are very flexible and will work with you and potentially allow you to do a redo.
The best part is the wonderful people at Fullstack--the instructors (shout outs to Orlando, Noelle, and Gary) all have real world experience and are also amazing teachers, the program lead I had (Serena) was super sweet and encouraging, and the career success team (shout out to Jolie!!!) was super helpful in answering all the questions and filling in the gaps. I found my job through a career success email blast!
I think the structure of the program works well and you leave the program with 2-3 projects on your portfolio that employers DO care and ask about. Like another reviewer here, my only complaint would be that there could potentially be an earlier focus on doing REACTOs (learning data structures and algorithms, which are super essential to a lot of companies' interviewing processes). I did it part-time, three classes per week. The entire class participated remotely. I've been working three weeks now and I enjoy it very much!
