Skillcrush is a woman-owned, independent, online coding & design school founded in 2012. Skillcrush offers both free and paid programs, including the self-paced Break Into Tech + Job Guarantee program, which prepares students for entry-level positions in front end development and design. Skillcrush is on a mission to empower career changers — with a special focus on women and BIPOC — with the technical skills they need to transition into higher-earning, more fulfilling and flexible careers in tech.
Students who enroll in the Break Into Tech program will have access to both the Front End Developer and Designer career tracks. The curriculum covers HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Git, Github, visual design fundamentals, and more. Once students complete the technical skill building portion of the Break Into Tech (about 16-20 weeks), they receive 180 days of hands-on job search support including 1-on-1 and group coaching, and the opportunity to interview with Skillcrush employer partners.
Skillcrush is an open enrollment school, so no application is necessary. Skillcrush has trained over 20,000 students, and has an over 90% success rate of placing students in qualified jobs with an average time to get hired of 8-10 weeks.
Skillcrush offers tuition assistance for people who are unemployed, full-time students, and current or former military service members. Skillcrush encourages students to email hello@skillcrush.com to discuss payment options.

So I looked into free information and took some inexpensive courses. I learned some, but when I got stuck, I was stuck. SkillCrush is awesome because the design of the courses is very well thought out to get you from ground zero to web developer easily. Not only are the courses very high quality, but there are instructors that give you feedback very quickly, the students can also give each other feedback, and there are video conferences for specific feedback and more general discussion. These video conferences give you the chance to meet and interact with the instructors and the other students. No other courses I have taken come close to the quality of SkillCrush. I highly recommend you sign up, now! Go do it!
I'm really enjoying the way this program is structured, the way the information is provided, and the support I receive from skillcrush and other learners.

I've been freelancing as a web developer and designer for the past two years trying to make do with free and cheap courses. I've been freelancing as a web developer and designer for the past two years trying to make do with free and cheap courses. I'd learned a lot, but unfortunately most of the coding classes I was taking tended to follow a "if you want it to look like this, then do this" type of logic that ended up in me having to memorize lists upon lists of properties and not understanding the relationship between them.
Then along came Skillcrush. I enrolled in their 10-day bootcamp and already I was better understanding the principles behind HTML and CSS than in my two years previous. I saved up and jumped into their Break Into Tech Blueprint, and it's been a great experience. The TAs are really invested and the other students are incredibly supportive and encouraging. I'm so grateful to be in this program.
Skillcrush is the best! The course material is comprehensive. I know I'm not being left with large gaps in my knowledge. I love that all the videos have a transcript attached which makes note writing a lot easier.
I have taken other online coding courses where I was often left confused and with no one to turn to. With Skillcrush I know exactly where to go when I need help, and I get an (actually helpful) answer within minutes. Also the instructors are so nice!
I've managed to make it through the full set of modules in the HTML & CSS coding coursework and just need to get a domain name now. It's impressive as I had no previous knowledge of coding and it seemed to be a big mystery to me to start with. But, I highly rate the teaching style and engagement - learning always works when it is fun and you want to learn more and more and practice and practice...I'm managing the Break Into Tech Blueprint course whislt also doing a...

I'm saying all this to stress that this course is doable and flexible and fun. I wish I had more time to totally dive in, but what I am gaining in knowledge and achieving in progress is brilliant. The course allows you to think for yourself, encourages you to find your own answers for puzzling elements, yet the teaching crew and community are there to help you along and offer complete support. I could go on and on... the sum of it is that I would recommend this course to anyone and everyone and I do!

**I do wish some of the instructions were a little more clear, especially for those of us who are overhinkers / perfectionists**
I’m really happy I found Skillcrush. The Instructors are amazing and helpful. The whole course is really good. They don’t gove you all the answers which is good, because you need to find it on your own or with their help so you can learn more things and practice. I highly recommend to everyone who wants to change carriers or want to learn some new skills. 😊
After spending most of my career in sales, I decided I needed a change. After extensive research I chose Skillcrush to learn the skills I would need. The course work is self paced and appeals to a wide range of learning styles and skill levels.
The staff is excellent in responding to questions quickly and effectively. The counseling sessions are one on one and very informative.

I was a beginner when started to learn with skillcrush how to build a website. I enjoy learning with skillcrush a lot, it explains the learning material in details and many times, slowly step-by-step. I especially like that there are not only texts but also videos (in which the teacher really enjoys what she does! [plus point] I appreciate very much that the skillcrush staff answers my questions quickly, they really care about the students. I offer everyone skillcrush with pleasure!
Very reasonable pricing, supportive instructors, easy to follow lessons. You really can't go wrong with Skillcrush!
I started my tech-journey in another online coding bootcamp but it wasn't what I needed, so I decided to switch to Skillcrush. It provides a great teaching platform that includes videos, quizes, and course work that educates me in the way I learn best. The Skillcrush Slack community is great for connecting with fellow students and mentors who can help solve the tough questions. Overall I am really enjoying learning coding and highly recommend Skillcrush!
I come from absolute ZERO tech background. I'm currently working working full time, but learning to code in the evenings (classes are about 2-3 weeks, but its 'work at your own pace'). I am so surprised that I am learning these new skills so easily through the SkillCrush moduels. It is challenging but very, very attainable. I am seeing new job opportunities opening for me already and I am really excited to continue with my next class! They do not leave you on your own, the instructors are so helpful and knowledgable and very sweet people. Connecting with fellow students and bouncing feedback off each other is so great as well. I highley, highley reccomend taking SkillCrush courses. It is worth every cent and more!
