The Tech Bootcamps at University of North Florida by Fullstack Academy

The University of North Florida offers a cybersecurity bootcamp powered by Fullstack academy. After a lot of research, I decided this would be the core resource that I would use to change my career from project management to cybersecurity. I completed their part time cohort, which lasted 6 months (October 2021-April 2022). It provided a wonderful base knowledge that has set me up for some really great opportunities as a cybersecurity analyst. The pace and content of the course was challenging but rewarding. The instructional staff were all very knowledgeable and supportive, which made learning this new material much easier than a path of self paced study. A big bonus for me was that the program included amazing career services that assist with resume creation, job hunt strategies, and interview preparation. I would highly recommend this program for anyone that wants to make themselves competitive for an entry level cybersecurity position. 

It was a challenging bootcamp but i completed successfully and now I am on my path to a new career as a Solution Developer.

The UNC coding bootcamp has excellent Instructor and Teacher Assistants along with Student  Success Manager and Career Director.  I learned from them how to do a career transformation easy for me. I will recommend this Bootcamp to everyone who is passion about moving up in the current company they work for or if they want to be a coder and want to make transition in their career

I loved the experience of my bootcamp. Of course there were good things and bad things about it, but overall I liked it.
The good:
I feel that it prepared me very well on the basics. At the end I was able to build a full stack website all by myself and with a team as well.
The instructor was great. Her name is Natalie. She is no longer with them though as she took another job recently.
The pace and style of instruction was great for me, but not everyone liked it. The instruction is very brief and most of the learning comes from you performing tasks based on that instruction and from you hammering at the tasks until you get it.

The bad:
At the end you are less prepared than what many employees are seeking, even for entry level. You have to continue developing even after you finish.
In my humble opinion the software engineer market is over saturated now. It used to be that there weren't enough software engineers out there, but now with all these boot camps there's plenty. Finding a job after graduation is not easy. Mind you it is doable, but not easy. It may take months, even years. As far as I know (I may be wrong) from my cohort only 3 people have found jobs in the six months after we graduated. It took me 6 months to get an offer.
I wish the course were a tad longer. I feel like some topics weren't covered in enough depth. We voiced our concerns to them at the time so I hope it has improved by now. We spent a tremendous amount of time on html, css, and javascript and at the end very little time on React. We all wish we had had more React training and practice.
Fullstack isn't cheap. I personally think that the price tag was relatively reasonable, but there are many cheaper options out there. I wouldn't know though if they are any better or worse than Fullstack.
At the end of the course they have a job fair of sorts. I don't know for other cohorts, but for ours it was a bit of a joke. There were two employers and one recruiting agency and we were each interviewed by them for about 5 minutes. None of them were really offering any jobs, more going through the motions. I never heard again from the recruiting agency either.

The neutral:
They have job seeking counseling/assistance, but they won't find a job for you. Don't get that illusion. They will help you with resume building, interview techniques and such, but at the end of the day it will still be up to you to search jobs, apply, etc.
Don't go under the illusion that you'll graduate with a job waiting for you. Now this service is great, and I used it and appreciated it, but it's easy go in thinking that it may be more than what it is.

Overall I would recommend Fullstack to someone that is very determined to switch to software engineering or a related field and that has a job that would allow them to search for a new job without desperation. If you are unemployed and are banking on this as your ticket I don't know that that would be a good idea. If you have a job and can wait many months to get a new job in the software field then I think it is worth it. But either way it will require a lot of work and dedication. It is by no means something that you can just attend and then wait for the job offers to rain on you. That's not going to happen.
