Yellow Tail Tech is a hybrid e-learning experience that offers Cloud for Jobs 2.0 (52 weeks) and Lnx for Jobs (24 weeks) training programs. Yellow Tail Tech combines online exercises with weekly live sessions, designed to fit each cohort’s schedule. Live sessions are typically held in the evenings to accommodate working professionals. Students should expect to spend 7 to 10 hours per week on coursework and activities.
Cloud for Jobs 2.0 students will learn to deploy fault-tolerant cloud architectures in AWS, monitor system availability, simulate and test failure scenarios, and optimize infrastructure for cost and performance. They will gain hands-on experience with Terraform to configure AWS services globally, evaluate cloud security vulnerabilities, and automate tasks using AWS APIs and AWS Lambda.
Lnx for Jobs students will learn to install and configure operating systems, deploy virtual machines, manage user access, and troubleshoot performance issues. They will develop skills in web server management, networking, and writing Bash scripts.
No prior technical experience is required—all prerequisites are built into the curriculum to support non-IT professionals. Yellow Tail Tech follows a mutual fit selection process, granting acceptance after a career strategy session—a 45-minute 1:1 Zoom call with an enrollment advisor.
Students may also enroll in an optional internship program and receive individualized career coaching and mentoring.
Yellow Tail Tech is committed to career success—providing structured training, hands-on experience, and direct support to help students transition into IT roles. To ensure the best outcomes, students must meet specific conditions, including attending all live sessions, completing assignments, and maintaining a minimum score of 70% on all tests.
Yellow Tail Tech is a Maryland State WIOA Occupational Training provider, and students may qualify for state funding.

My final advice to those who think on taking the test in 2-3-4-5 months, DO NOT WAIT that long as this test will be grueling to you by the time you finally decide to do so..

Last year, around early 2020 I did not know anything about IT aside from clearing my browser, restarting and shutting down my PC.This Linux/AWS school is straight-forward and I’m a living proof that you will catch on during the whole process.Everything was hands-on, the explanations and learnings were clear, they have the best learning platform, the most fun student environment and there are several ways to review to stay up-to-date with your studies.I never once felt left out, confused nor lost during the whole process of learning.This is not just a typical review to get you to click and call; this is exactly what you need if you need to get into the IT world.
The instructors are amazing and excellent at what they do. There’s nothing better than having instructors that are actually working in the field, to help you prepare and enter the same field with a clear knowledge.Yellow Tail Tech also has a great communication platform to stay in touch with your instructors and fellow students. There are no blind spots through this learning process.
Yellow Tail Tech has the best format that I’ve never seen. I’ve research, asked and looked at other IT learning platforms but Yellow tail Tech was the best out there altogether.The lectures, live labs, recorded sessions (to go back and review what you may have missed), plenty study groups options and direct access for any help you may need to get back in track.

The program format of AWS at Yellow Tail is awesome and I know I couldn't find any other better Tech Training Institute than this! We have all the materials that we need and we are learning all the details practically in a lab! I'm mostly enjoying the review sessions and we always have a great team support either on our classes, on review sessions or in our Student Hub in Slack!I can't wait to achieve my goal which is to get certified!

I recently finished the six-month Linux for jobs program and earned the RHCSA cert. It's been a lot of time between the live classes and studying. Without the support from instructors, and my cohort it would not have been possible. I had the privilege to go through this program with likeminded individuals who all had one goal. I can honestly say that I'm loving every moment of my training at Yellow Tail Tech. I especially like the fact that I can communicate with my classmates all the time because we have a slack channel so every time we have some topics we don’t understand we can send it there and our instructors are also on the channel so they can comment or give feedback as well. I also like that everyone, especially the staff, not just our instructors, is very encouraging which makes me more motivated to learn.
It’s been 6 months since I landed the job and I’m very happy about it. I worked hard and I got what I wanted. Learning at Yellow Tail Tech was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. I would encourage everyone who wants a career change to learn at Yellow Tail Tech.

Well, I will say Yellow Tail Tech is very interesting. It's very fun. Our instructor is very, very good at what he does. Both instructors are very good at what they do. And they're also making sure that we understand exactly what the process is before we even move forward to the next module. It is a struggle because I'm older and school is one of the things I never thought I would be doing agai...Well, I will say Yellow Tail Tech is very interesting. It's very fun. Our instructor is very, very good at what he does. Both instructors are very good at what they do. They're very well-versed at making sure that any questions that we have they get answered. And they're also making sure that we understand exactly what the process is before we even move forward to the next module. It is a struggle because I'm older and school is one of the things I never thought I would be doing again. But it's just a matter of pushing through that adversity. I will say it's a great experience that I'm enjoying. Mr. Allan, our instructor, is very, very knowledgeable of Linux Red Hat, the system. Listening to him talk and see how he navigates through it is like one day, you'll be there. So it is inspiring to know that the same path that I'm on now, he took that same path. And he is an experienced teacher, he says, "Hey, I'm willing to answer your questions, whatever you need." If we send him a message on Slack, he'll reply. I know he has tons of students, so it's probably hard for him sometimes, but he does his best to make sure that he communicates with us.I do see the accolades of the past students and some current students and what they've achieved, they've passed some tests. So you do get to see that on the general channel of all the students that have passed through Yellow Tail Tech and some that are still here. So I will say that it is encouraging to know that no matter what, I truly believe that everyone at Yellow Tail would be there for you to push you and to help you get to the goal, which is to get certified so that you can start working in the field of either AWS or Linux system admin. And our current class, I think we started out at a pretty high number. I think we're down to the ones that are going to be here for the long haul. So it's pretty good to get to Slack and talk to some of them. And for those of you that don't know Slack, it's a messaging system for IT. The team is really knowledgeable. They're ready to answer all questions and I think overall the process, how Yellow Tail Tech handles teaching others, I think they make it as simple as possible so I do really appreciate that.
I'll give a shout out to Allan. I think Allan is probably like the gold mine for Yellow Tail Tech, and the only reason why I'm saying this is because he seems like he has a lot of patience when it comes to answering questions. He will take the time to explain to you the material and if you have any questions, he will explain it to you. I think that is the big takeaway out of all of that. Definitely a huge upgrade of my knowledge in I.T.
I was working at Amazon when one of my co-workers transitioned into Linux. I was there seeing him as he entered Yellow Tail’s program, how he graduated, took the internship, and got a job in a span of months!
His journey inspired me to at least try it and I’m so happy that I did. I’m really grateful for all of our instructors, especially Thierry, Zee, and Allan. These guys are the best! They’re the most knowledgeable people I know who helped me refine my skills in I.T.
