My time at Thinkful was great! First and foremost, I got a job as a data analyst within 6 months of graduation with no previous data experience, which is exactly why I attended the program. The instructors made the course material easy to understand and were approachable if I had any questions. The capstone projects are great to put on your resume and give you more confidence with the skills you learn. The careers team works very hard, and I learned quite a lot about the job search process. Thinkful supported me every step of the way. 

The Thinkful program is a great opportunity for career growth and development. I'm very thankful for the program and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to go into the world of IT. I will share my thoughts regarding the program and my experience with the staff. 

The curriculum is amazing, providing excellent information, useful exercises, and a chance to collaborate with others. I enjoy having access to all of the templates after graduating, and they have helped me in my new role as a Project Manager. At times the system was down and the assignments wouldn't allow me to successfully submit my work. The staff did well supporting us and making sure we received credit. 

The staff was very helpful and provided continuous support throughout the program. You're paired with a Mentor, Academic Success Manager, Career Coach, and you have your instructor and an aid/assistant as well. Everyone assigned to me was very helpful and positive. My Instructor was awesome and always made sure he was available to answer questions when he could. 

The Career portion of the program was great, and the resources and skills for the job search have proved to be amazing. I understand that we need to make sure we are active in our job search, but I wish the program provided leads or referrals for internships. I understand that job placement may be asking too much, but a referral would be nice. 

Overall, my experience with Thinkful was amazing, and I wouldn't have the job I have now if it weren't for the program and support. If you need a detailed training program or a career change, Thinkful is an excellent choice! 

It's EXCELLENT!! The language level the program is written is interesting, easy to understand, and relevant to the present times. You actually enjoy reading the material, watching the videos and doing the homework assignments. The mentor I was assigned to was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. He was very patient with me, answered all my questions, if there was ever a problem with scheduling, he was very understanding and flexible, he connected me with other senior designers in the industry and even wrote me a recommendation on LinkedIn. The other mentors who review your assignments are also very knowledgeable, meet you at your level and thoroughly explain how you can improve your design or processes. The program teaches you the latest UX / UI design methodologies and tools. Then after you finish the program and graduate with a ready to present portfolio, you get assigned to a career coach that helps you find a job. I was able to find a UX/UI design job just a month after my graduation date. I am very happy I did it and will definitely recommend it to anyone looking into UX / UI design programs. Thinkful is the way to go! 

When I started the program, it was under Bloc, however that was acquired by Thinkful. I lucked out and got an amazing mentor that I stuck with the entire program. Before starting the program, I signed up for CareerFoundry's 7 day email "course" for UX and also completed Springboard's Into to Design course (4 weeks long) to ensure that I wanted to make the commitment to such a long program. I ended up going with Bloc/Thinkful because I didn't like the idea of doing unpaid work for a company (Springboard). In hindsight, that would no longer be a determining factor in my decision. Also, Bloc's financing terms worked better for me. 

I've been taking 2-4 college classes a semester while working 40 + hours a week since about 2017. Because of this, I thought that the UX / UI Design program would be just about as much work. It was definitely more, but still manageable. With Bloc & Thinkful having merged, I found that some policies contradicted themselves which was a bit frustrating. Another thing that I wish was different is that I wish the Slack channel was more of a community. That said, you can totally find a community in different LinkedIn groups for UX Design. 

That all said, I definitely learned a lot and would sign up for the program again. Before completing my final capstone project, I ended up with a job!

My overall experience with Thinkful was not what I hoped or expected. Yes, they will teach you something but the depth of that something is very shallow. They make over-hype advertisements and barely deliver. Yes, the course goes over fundamentals with very little useful help. Very little time with teachers or Mentors. Most of the course was not functioning correctly or used very vague concepts to teach with. I did complete the course and got my certificate. I don't feel prepared for a job if anyone will even take me with the poor teaching I received from Thinkful. The best thing I got out of this is I got to dip my feet into learning to code for multiple tens of thousands in which I could have done elsewhere for free or ten dollars a course. Instructors are decent. Some good some not so. I wouldn't recommend anyone to do this. It is way cheaper elsewhere.

My experience with Thinkful was outstanding. The amount of support that was available to me was mind-blowing. Not only did I have a mentor who had experience in the job field to answer any and all questions and give me feedback on my work, but I also had a ASM, which was like having my own student advocate and an assistant there for me whenever I needed them. I recently graduated from the UX/UI Flex program, and I am now working with a career coach who is constantly in contact with me giving me resources and tips, along with answering any questions or worries I have. 

This is the first school I've ever been to where I felt cared about and valued as a student. Help was available no matter what, I had a team of people there to support me. If I had to give some negative feedback, it would be that there needs to be more user testing resources for the students, finding people to do usability testing and surveys was difficult. But besides that it was a great experience and I feel prepared to start my new career!

Preface:  Being unemployed, although working as a consultant, during the pandemic I took the opportunity to join Thinkful’s Digital Marketing Flex program to bolster my skill set, as I already had experience in sales, customer/client service, and business development. Unlike many enrollees of Thinkful who plan to enter the tech space, I planned to use this added experience to ultimately obtain a job in sports.    Why Flex?:  - It offered the flexibility to continue the program without a hitch if I obtained a job during the program. - I could work at my own pace, whether quickly or steadily. - I could work when I needed to (perfect for night owls). - The cost is cheaper compared to the Immersion Program. - It provided the option to pay for the program only after I receive a qualifying job ($40K minimum). - It offered eligibility for a tuition money-back guarantee if I don’t receive a qualifying job after 6 months.   Curriculum: The curriculum was well structured, highly educational, well written, and informative with relevant material for measurable marketing in current times while preparing you for the future of marketing. All current topics and platforms being used are discussed, while supporting case studies are provided throughout each section as well. Following each section you’ll complete a project that is designed for you to apply your knowledge and skills learned, then you’ll receive valuable feedback on each project.    Mentorship: During the program you will be paired with a mentor that has experience in your field, and may even have had experience specifically in the industry in which you may want to work. The knowledge and advice provided was invaluable. I met with my mentor via Zoom once per week. If I needed assistance with anything regarding coursework, projects, or had questions about anything as I began to see things in the real world through the lens of a digital marketer, he was consistently available.    Career Services: Following completion of the program you get access to a career coach for 6 months. I am just beginning this stage now, so I don’t have much to speak on outside of my initial first week with my career coach. So far I’ve met with my career coach and he hit the ground running. I’ve immediately been provided with advice and many resources to advance my career while refining my job search and networking techniques.    Critique: Coursework could have gone more in depth in some subjects, HOWEVER, I was provided with a great foundation for each subject to build on even further.    Where Am I Now?: Although I recently finished the program, I have already had more success with securing interviews than before enrolling in the program. I secured 2 interviews that came on the heels of ending the program and a third scheduled this week. Being able to walk away with a polished resume, LinkedIn profile, and comprehensive portfolio has boosted my confidence when applying to opportunities. In addition, immediately seeing results thus far has ignited even more of a desire to keep building on this foundation. Overall this is a great program that provides great value for the money!

My prior experience was not fully as a data analyst. I used excel to make some insights but it did not truly go much beyond averages and totals. It did make me want to learn more and become a data analyst, with a full set of tools at my disposal. Enter Thinkful. I expanded my excel knowledge, as well as got a nice bit of background for SQL, Python and Tableau. Through the course of the three capstone projects, I learned more about presenting data and different tools to do it well. Most importantly, during the careers section, I had someone who looked over me, listened to me whine and grumble, gave me additional project resources, and kept me on task when I felt like stopping the job search. And I got results. I accepted a position as a Business Analyst, and I will definitely be using my expanded excel and tableau skills. I am very excited about my new journey. 

That said, there are things that offer frustration. Thinkful tends to change up curriculum, but sometimes the assignment solutions and problems don’t always line up. Or the testing tools have their own hiccups. It’s like there is room for some QA in the program and with some of the chosen tools, and as a student these can be frustrating. But the community is very helpful and the mentors are great. It serves as a reminder that these things happen in the work world too, don’t forget to call on your team.  Also, I would have like more tableau and more SQL and Python, but it is not meant to be forever. There are other resources to gain further experience. 

I completed the full time technical project management course. It was quite intense! The course covers almost every aspect of project management, including the different frameworks and processes used to manage project. I was in the second cohort ever, so there was a lot of room for improvement. The knowledge you gain is outstanding, however I do wish we spent more time doing interview prep. I have landed an amazing role at an incredible tech company, but it took me months to get used to the interview structures and expectations. Your career coach is a great resource, and maybe if I had utilized her more, I might have gotten an offer a lot sooner. Thinkful provides you with a library of resources. You have your instructor who will usually help you with anything, the TA’s, your mentor, and your career couch. Your success it entirely dependent on the amount of work you put in. This isn’t a ticket to landing a job. It’s a lot of work and it’s definitely a bit of an emotional roller coaster, in a good way! Thinkful hires top knotch industry experts. They will do the best they can to support you, but you have to use the resources that are provided to you. The people that aren’t successful tend to coast along, doing the bare minimum. Then they get disappointed when they don’t land a job. All in all, amazing course. I would recommend it to anyone that’s interested!
