Springboard is an online learning platform that prepares students for the tech industry’s most in-demand careers with comprehensive, mentor-led online programs in software engineering, data science, UI/UX design, cybersecurity, tech sales, and more. All Springboard courses are 100% online, remote, and self-paced throughout an average of 6-9 months. Springboard acts as a support system, coach, and cheerleader for working professionals who are ready to level-up or make a major career shift. Students have access to a unique community of industry mentors, thought leaders, and alumni, who are on hand to offer insights, networking opportunities, and support throughout the program and well past graduation. Every Springboard student is matched with a personal student advisor and industry mentor who guides them throughout the program through regular video calls.
To apply, applicants fill out an online form, take an aptitude test, then talk with a school representative about their background and motivations. For the data science career track a background in statistics and/or programming is required. For the UX career track, students should have academic or professional background in user design or development-oriented fields.
Before graduation, Springboard’s career services team supports students in their job search, helping prepare them for interviews and networking, and facilitates their transition into the tech industry. Springboard's programs are backed with a job guarantee.

All graduates benefit from an extensive support network encompassing career services, 1:1 career coaching, networking tips, resume assistance, interview prep, and salary negotiation. Good Curriculum and Support
I had a good experience with the curriculum content, which offers a variety of resource types and levels. There are also optional materials that enhance the learning experience. At times, the pace of the curriculum can feel a bit fast, especially if you're balancing work or studies, but there are options like pausing the course or getting a free extension after completing a certain percentage of the content. Challenging but worth it!
My experience taking the UX/UI Design Career Track course has been a long, but rewarding one. The coursework is essentially sources from online, which anyone can access.

Additionally, the student is paired with a mentor that guides the student through learning the material and ideally, motivates them. Springboard's support team is great about getting back to you in a timely manner and making sure your questions are answered. I felt they tried their best to work with me on scheduling course extensions.
For me, the biggest challenge with the framework of this curriculum is that it is self-study/paced. If you struggle with time management, this will likely be challenging for you. There is a student Slack channel where you can connect with other students to study together virtually, but other than that I'm not aware that there was any other way to find peer support till the final project.
Overall, I think if your strengths lie in time management and consistency, taking this course would be great, especially if you are transitioning careers. The greatest value I found is 1) industry mentor, 2) hands on experience with the material and quality projects to add to your portfolio, and 3) working with an industry company. I had a great experience
I had a really good experience with the program. I have a family and the ability to do the work on my own schedule was crucial for me. A lot of the times I was working very late at night after my kids went to bed. I had a good experience with my mentor and the support team anytime I had a technical question or a question about the course. Worth It
The cybersecurity career track program was much more difficult than I anticipated. Regardless, I was able to complete the course thanks to my mentor and assistance fom the advising team.

The certification prepared me for real web based projects
I liked the way the program was set. As you go through the course, you learned the basic essentials and were encouraged to learn new topics, such as NoSQL. Also, I liked how the capstones really made you think like a real developer. Plus, the support from the Career Services was really nice. Not worth the money
I decided to go with springboard because of the job guarantee, but it's a joke. They extended me 3 months for the job market and then 3 months for not living in a metro area, but when I pointed out that I do they back pedaled and said I would have gotten a 6 month extension for the job market so it evens out. Most of the course is taken from other places like data camp and linkedin learning. Good for self-directed students
Just recently graduated, I think the curriculum was pretty good. I learned a lot of useful skills, concepts, and disciplines from working through the course-work, working with my industry expert mentors, and filling in the gaps here and there when needed. Admittedly there are a few moments where the coursework doesn't cover something that seems like it would be important, or there are sections in the curriculum that are still noticeably undergoing updates, but I think that's unavoidable ...Just recently graduated, I think the curriculum was pretty good. I learned a lot of useful skills, concepts, and disciplines from working through the course-work, working with my industry expert mentors, and filling in the gaps here and there when needed. Admittedly there are a few moments where the coursework doesn't cover something that seems like it would be important, or there are sections in the curriculum that are still noticeably undergoing updates, but I think that's unavoidable when you're teaching technology and skills that are constantly evolving.
All that being said, my main gripe with the bootcamp is how independent the coursework was. There is an unfortunate lack of group work. A group project would be very a good experience and achievement for students' portfolios. This isn't as big of an issue if you're determined and have good self-discipline, ultimately skills that are important to pick up if you're going to be software engineer.
Another issue I had was that I switched coding mentors about three times. The first one I really liked but he had a falling out with the school and mentor program. The second mentor I had was well-meaning, but ultimately not a great fit for me, and due to personal reasons had to stop mentoring abruptly. My third mentor has been the best by far though. I wish there was some sort of trial period for mentors at the beginning of the bootcamp where you could switch around mentors, like how you're able to try out different career coaches.
So if you're looking at Springboard for your next programming bootcamp, know that all the resources and job guarantee are just that, resources. It's up to you to make the most of it, so ask any and all questions as soon as possible. You get industry experts for mentors, both technical and career. Great experience
