The Tech Academy is a trade school headquartered in Portland, Oregon that offers full-time and part-time bootcamps online and in-person at their Portland campus. The Tech Academy offers part-time and full-time bootcamps in computer programming, website development, cybersecurity, game development, mobile development, data science, front-end development, tech marketing, and tech sales. The immersive experience aims to create well-rounded technology professionals, and also gives students the option to take the course at their own pace. There are also no set starts dates or rigid scheduling. Students can enroll at any time, study from home, and choose whatever study schedule they would like.
The Tech Academy’s bootcamps cover topics including computer science fundamentals, programming basics, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, C#, Python, Bootstrap, jQuery, React.js, project management, Agile, Scrum, MVC, version control, Java, and more. Each bootcamp also includes a Live Project, where students gain real-life experience to add to their resume as well as job placement assistance.
None of The Tech Academy's bootcamps require any tech background or experience. To apply, applicants need to take an IQ test with logic-based questions (to ensure applicants can read, write and perform basic math), followed by an admissions interview.
The final part of every The Tech Academy bootcamp is the Job Placement Course which covers interviewing skills, resume writing, where to find tech jobs, and gives students access to job placement staff who assist students in landing technical positions.

Rewarding and Inspiring experience.
My time at the Tech Academy was great and it made me into a developer. The Tech Academy breaks getting a job in tech down to a science, and provides you with the best information, everything from writing your resume, and building your online presence to reaching out and applying, to mock interviews and coding challenges. An Amazing Experience!
I must admit, when I decided to change careers into software development I was skeptical of the bootcamp structure and it’s promises to teach you so much technology in a short amount of time. However, I can verify that the Tech Academy delivers on all of it’s promises. The courses were very in depth, and while I did not learn every single piece of technology available I was given something much more valuable: the ability to think like a software developer. The courses were very in depth, and while I did not learn every single piece of technology available I was given something much more valuable: the ability to think like a software developer. The course is challenging and pushes you out of your comfort zone, fully preparing you for a real world experience in the industry.
The staff does a great job at being available, responsive, and providing great feedback. They work hard to make sure that you have the tools you need to succeed. I enjoyed the projects included in the bootcamp, and the live project experience is very challenging as well as just fun. Gaining experience in a real development environment was a fantastic experience, and gave me the confidence I needed to begin the search for employment.
Upon completion of the bootcamp, you are not just left to your own devices to wander aimlessly and find employment. The job placement course provides you with a ton of resources, and the job placement staff is truly in your corner. They stay in contact regularly to provide feedback on your resume, send leads, help me polish your skills, and truly work to prepare you for success. I had a great time working through my boot camp and would definitely recommend this school to anyone interested in learning software development!

UX/UI Design Boot Camp
My 15 week UX/UI Design boot camp was intense and exciting. After losing both my jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic, I decided to make a change in career directions. This course taught be the fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. When it came to design, the course teaches you the fundamentals of photoshop and Adobe XD. Be prepared to put in a lot of hours in even if you’re ahead in the program.

I did a lot of research on boot camps before joining the Tech Academy. It was well worth the effort because I actually got more in-depth learning than I expected. This place starts you off with solid fundamentals in Computer concepts and evolution. Which really helps you understand what really goes on behind the code you write. Superb Experience!
The Tech Academy is the best education experience I have had. The Tech Academy is a great boot camp for people wanting to get into the tech field. It teaches you all you need and more, as well as gives you real, hands-on experience of what it's like to work a tech job. The only concern is that if you are not a person who is very self-motivated and able to stick to a schedule, this boot camp may be hard for you....The Tech Academy is a great boot camp for people wanting to get into the tech field. This program was fantastic! I learned so much from The Tech Academy and they start from the very basics, so even if you don't know computers well you can still learn programming. Software Dev Bootcamp: Loved it!
I have so many good things to say about The Tech Academy. From the beginning I felt valued; the staff stayed connected and really invested time into my future.
The bootcamp setup is such that all the materials are online, ready for you to access. Concepts are repeated in a variety of ways: readings, videos, assignments, etc. It worked really well for me because I studied in and around my kids' nap schedules and wife's school schedule. The instructors are like tutors that you have...I have so many good things to say about The Tech Academy. From the beginning I felt valued; the staff stayed connected and really invested time into my future.
The bootcamp setup is such that all the materials are online, ready for you to access. Concepts are repeated in a variety of ways: readings, videos, assignments, etc. It worked really well for me because I studied in and around my kids' nap schedules and wife's school schedule. The instructors are like tutors that you have instant and unlimited access to. You check in with program directors each week to make sure you are doing well and have everything you need.
In terms of content, the material is a good balance of simplicity and thoroughness. I came from a non-technical background, so that was really positive.
The Software Developer program is amazing. It prepares you to be a full stack developer, but focuses on the back end, which was perfect for me. If you don't know what you want to do, do this one, but they have a boot camp for almost anything now, and they are all great.
I got a job after doing this program as a Software Engineer, so I'd have to say that it works!

Great place to learn

Well Worth the experience!
This was a 6 month intensive covering what you need to know to get your foot in the door. It was worth every second!
For someone who spends a lot of time on the computer, I figured the 40 hours/week for 6 months wouldn't be an issue, which overall it wasn't. But the last month or two is when I was really feeling it, and its nothing to scoff at. You will get a lot of information given to you one after another, so be ready to work and study hard!
