The Tech Academy is a trade school headquartered in Portland, Oregon that offers full-time and part-time bootcamps online and in-person at their Portland campus. The Tech Academy offers part-time and full-time bootcamps in computer programming, website development, cybersecurity, game development, mobile development, data science, front-end development, tech marketing, and tech sales. The immersive experience aims to create well-rounded technology professionals, and also gives students the option to take the course at their own pace. There are also no set starts dates or rigid scheduling. Students can enroll at any time, study from home, and choose whatever study schedule they would like.
The Tech Academy’s bootcamps cover topics including computer science fundamentals, programming basics, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, C#, Python, Bootstrap, jQuery, React.js, project management, Agile, Scrum, MVC, version control, Java, and more. Each bootcamp also includes a Live Project, where students gain real-life experience to add to their resume as well as job placement assistance.
None of The Tech Academy's bootcamps require any tech background or experience. To apply, applicants need to take an IQ test with logic-based questions (to ensure applicants can read, write and perform basic math), followed by an admissions interview.
The final part of every The Tech Academy bootcamp is the Job Placement Course which covers interviewing skills, resume writing, where to find tech jobs, and gives students access to job placement staff who assist students in landing technical positions.

Good, but not great
I had a great experience with The Tech Academy. The only reason I say it was good and not great is because I took their cybersecurity course, which from my understanding is fairly new for them. It seemed to have more of a web development focus. Overall, TTA is amazing. The instructors are responsive and helpful. Great Experience
I’m a recent graduate from The Tech Academy’s C# and .NET boot camp. I must say my experience was positive. I enrolled in this boot camp to enhance my technical skills and to get some official documentation for my resume to back up the skills I had already self-taught. I did all my learning remotely and in between my work schedule.

They've taken an approach to teaching students from the ground up, starting with things like, what is the internet and how does it work, and even going so far as to do the same about your computer. On my C# and .NET Bootcamp I first learned Python, HTML, CSS, and Javascript, so that they can prepare you and introduce you to webf applications with a good foundation, and because of that good foundation, finding a job was even easier than if I had went through a more narrowly-scoped bootcamp because it opened up far more doors than just working with C# and ASP.NET. A great approach to learning something complex
I wanted to write a quick review of my experience with the Tech Academy so far. I am very happy with the approach that they've taken, which is one of laying in very basic concepts which are gone over and over and added to at a very appropriate speed. I found the explanations of concepts I previously struggled with to be very simple and they actually got me to the point of understanding.
An example would be the binary and hexadecimal number systems. Wow, when I write those words, e...I wanted to write a quick review of my experience with the Tech Academy so far. An example would be the binary and hexadecimal number systems. Wow, when I write those words, even just the words sound daunting, but after the explanations, you really get it and the importance of these ideas becomes clear when you get to the point of actually writing code.
Writing code, even if the code you write actually works, is sort of a dead end if you can't understand why or how the code is working. You need to understand it all conceptually so that you can "think with the data" and not be a robot. And this last paragraph I've written here pretty much sums it up. I am starting to be able to think with the information I'm learning and utilize it in a creative way, and I'm certain that as I move along with my studies this ability will grow more and more. I'm very excited to continue in something that I now have confidence in learning about, which is going to be a a great enhancement to my ability to survive in this world, AKA getting a job and career in the tech industry. Not only is it one the highest demand and fastest growing positions as of now, but also a challenging and engaging one. To top it all off a college degree isn't exactly required to land a job, and you can learn the necessary skill set from a coding Bootcamp. Which lead me to my search for one. After hours and hours of searching and calling I read about an award winning Bootcamp named The Tech Academy. I called in and talked to one of their very friendly student admission's staff. She gave me confident and honest answers to my questions and was not pushy in the least bit. Eventually I decided this Bootcamp was right for me. The courses began with a brief intro and some history of The Tech Academy. It then went right into teaching the basics of computers and other greatly informative facts about history of computers. Even after the first couple of lessons I felt so much more knowledgeable on the subject. The following courses helped me understand some of the basics of building software and how to read binary. After getting a firm understanding of the fundamentals I immediately starting learning HTML and CSS. Then soon after the course had me learning JavaScript and SQL. In such a relatively short amount of time I've learned so much already. The staff at The Tech Academy are very responsive and approachable. If your looking into starting a Bootcamp I would highly recommend writing down some questions and giving them a call to learn more. From my personal experience I have 0 regrets and I am very glad I chose The Tech Academy.

The Best I've Seen
I joined the Tech Academy after reading the other positive reviews about it. I had already had coding experience, but I knew there was more I could learn, and The Tech Academy delivered.
